East 23rd Street, north side, at Lexington Avenue, showing two individual views of each corner. The photographer's vantage point is the Children's Court building on East 22nd Street. The direction is northward across the clearance where the old City College stood. The 13 story office building shown at the N.W. corner is the Fifth National Bank Bldg. The low structures at the N.E. corner will be razed for the future Hotel George Washington. In the background appears the American Book Co. building on Lexington Avenue, at 26th Street.
