Manhattan: 37th Street (East) - 2nd Avenue
East 37th Street, east from Second Avenue. The buildings on the right will be demolished for the Midtown Queens tunnel. This phase completed is shown in Views 2 and 3. Note at the left the clearance at the N.E. corner. This preceded the tunnel project and had nothing to do with same. The New York Steam Co. plant appears on 35th Street, between First Avenue and the East River. Demolition of St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church permitted this view and the steeple-less edifice is seen (in View 1) slightly to the east of Second Avenue.
