Eleventh Avenue, north fromm W. 37th Street, showing a thoroumhfare popularlv krown as "Railroad or Death" Avenue because of the evident actiity. lIh this view apnears a New York Central Railroad train being drawn by a deisel enmine. Note demolition of tenements at the left which bore No's. 45961. In the center, mostlv obscured by box cars, is the metal shack that houses the Lincoln Tunnel shaft entrance. This is better shown in View 2 and which includes the new Ventilator Puilding to same. The latter is at the S.N. corner of W. 39th Street. Note an early apnearance of this site as shown in View 3.
