Manhattan: York Avenue - 63rd Street

York Avenue (formerly Avenue A), east side, at 63rd Street, showing the Burns Brothers coal yard (which is to be removed) on the S.E. corner and the George Ehret malting plant (once the American Malting Company) in the 63rd to 64th Streets block. Demolition of the latter has already begun. The apparent closeness of the grain elevator is due only to the angle of the camera. Compare this with the view of this block about 1913. October 20, 1930.
