Manhattan: Morningside Avenue - 124th Street (West)

Morningside Avenue, west side, south from W. 124th Street, showing a row of tenements between 123rd to 124th Streets. South of same is Morningside Park. The westerly margin of the latter is Morningside Drive with numerous apartment houses upon same. View No. 2 is the same area at a latter date and shows the absence of tenements exclusive of that at the S.W. corner of 124th Street. This, according to the New York Times of October 5th, 1938, is shortly to follow; being included in demolition of structures owned by John D. Rockefeller and consisting of No's. 400 to 432 W. 124th Street. Subsequently the only remaining building in the lower half of this block will be the Lincoln School on 123rd Street.
