Manhattan: Madison Avenue - 27th Street (East)

Madison Avenue, S.W. corner of 27th Street, showing New York Jockey Club House, demolished before 1910. The view is west on 27th Street. The arch shown at the left of the picture is part of Madison Square Garden (1890-1925). The small buildings on 27th Street between the Jockey Club and the newly erected Brunswick Building are old stables; in a few more years they will begin giving way to office buildings.
