Queens: 94th Street - Ditmars Boulevard

94th Street, east side, south of Ditmars Boulevard, showing in four views the J. I. Rapelye farmhouse of 1852. View one shows partially the above mentioned street which was originally known as Old Bowery Road. This house was demolished in May 1929. In 1908 it stood directly in the center of 95th Street (old 38th Street) about 208 ft. south of Ditmars Boulevard. This house faces north and was owned by A. Rapelye, 1860; C. P. Harris, 1873-1891; and C. H. Harris in 1896. Across Jackson Mill Pond on the east side of 94th Street, north of this house was located the T. B. Jackson house and mill. Samuel Fish, son of Nathan Fish became the owner in 1715. In 1724 he purchased the adjoining mill from the heirs of Jesse Kip. His son John (1719-1793) succeeded to the paternal estate and mill at Fish Point. His daughters Anna (b 1748) and Sarah (b 1762) married Jacob and William Palmer respectively.
