144th Street (left), at the N. E. corner of 89th Avenue, showing the Reverend Abraham Keteltas house of 1780. This house was for a while occupied by General Skinner of the British forces during the Revolution, whose daughter Gertrude was married to Captain Meredith here on July 14, 1780. Other owners of the house were: Samuel Judd--1839-1846; the Samuel Judd Estate--1860-1873; Colonel A. A. Degrauw--1873-1896. The house originally stood on the north side of Jamaica Avenue, between 144th and 145th Streets, before it was moved to its present location; it then had wings.
