Queens: Hawtree Avenue - 115th Avenue
Hawtree Ave., east side, south of One Hundred Fifteenth Ave. line, partially in 124th Street, showing in a set of three views an old barn on the property of J. Lott from 1859 to 1873. G. Griffin was the owner in 1891. It was subsequently purchased by the Metropolis Land Company of 302 Broadway New York. This barn was erected on May 24, 1813 by William C. Stoothoff, whose family occupied a homestead on the west side of Hawtree Ave., north of One Hundred Fourteenth Avenue to a point slightly north of One Hundred Ninth Avenue from 1859-1891. In 1922 the J.C. Zook Organization had possession of the Lott homes. This farmhouse was northwest of this barn, between Hawtree Ave., and 124th Street in One Hundred Fifteenth Ave. View No. 3 shows the interior, the others the exterior of the barn. 1922. Eugene L.
