Metropolitan Avenue, north side, east of Seventy-first Avenue, showing in two views the old and the new De Bevoise house. The new house was erected about 1890 and is on the site of the old house which was moved further west. The old house was demolished in 1924; the new house is not standing in 1929. View No. 1 also shows the rears of a group of houses on the south side of Nansen Street, between Seventy-first and Forty-second [transcriber's note: should read "Seventy-second", not "Forty-second"] Avenues. March 31, 1924 View 2: Oct. 1923. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection [Transcriber's note: View No. 1 appears to show the new house at the far right of the picture. If that is the case, and the description is correct, then the new house is located between 71st Ave. and 72nd Ave., and possibly closer to 72nd Ave.]
