Sixth Avenue, east side, south from W. 3rd Street as viewed from the "El" at that point, showing a play area between same and Bleecker Street. Intersection seen in the immediate foreground is Minetta Lane. Minetta Place, of a quaint Greenwich Village, was formerly in the middle of the block to the south and was eradicated by the extension of Sixth Avenue. May 31, 1938. P.L. Sperr
