Park Avenue, south from and including 39th Street, seen from the top of the Lincoln Building at 60 East 42nd Street. Below 32nd Street the eastern side of Fourth Avenue, down to Union Square, is visible. In the left background the New York Edison tower, on 14th Street between Irving Place and Third Avenue, rises out of the haze. To the west of Fourth Avenue, much nearer, are the towers of the New York Life Building (27th to 26th Streets) and the Metropolitan Tower on the S.E. corner of Madison Avenue and 24th Street. Park Avenue begins at 32nd Street. The new One Park Avenue building is seen to the left, and Two Park Avenue to the right. In the block from 33rd to 34th Streets you can see the entrance to the old tunnel. The 71st Regiment Armory is on the east side, and the Hotel Vanderbilt on the west (in front of Two Park Avenue). The following construction is under way on or near Park Avenue; No. 7 Park Avenue, an L-shaped apartment building surrounding the N.E. corner of 34th Street; the new Union League clubhouse on the S.W. corner of 37th Street; and the Town House apartment building at 108 East 38th Street. In 1933 the small houses on the S.W. and N.E. corners of 39th Street will be demolished. The latter corner will be occupied in 1935 by America's Little House. 1930. Ewing Galloway.
