Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 53rd Street (West)

Fifth Avenue, at the N.W. corner of West 53rd Street, showing St. Thomas's P.E. Church, organized 1826. This edifice, designed by Upjohn, was built in 1870 and contains a chancel adorned by LaFarge and gold reredos by St. Gaudens. This identical view appears on page 353 of King's Handbook of New York, 1893. Early 1890's Gift Thru New York Historical Society
