No. 21, the corner house, was the home of Mark Twain [Samuel L. Clemens] from 1904 to the middle of 1908. In 1925 the Greenwich Village Association placed a tablet on the north wall commemorating both Mark Twain and Washington Irving, who was at one time a guest in this house. February 24, 1933. P.L.
