Flushing River (Queens): South along the creek from Northern Boulevard, showing the busy barge traffic that is carried on here. The Roosevelt Avenue draw bridge, which carries the B.M.T. and I.R.T. subways, can be seen in the background of views 1 and 2. In the foreground of view 1 is the Whitestone spur of the Long Island Railroad, gone in 1935. View 3 is north from the Whitestone railroad spur and shows the Northern Boulevard draw bridge. P. L.
