East River, shore and skyline, Manhattan: The confluence of the East (right) and the North (left) Rivers at the Battery, photographed northward from a harbor vessel. Battery Park, and the Aquarium are in the left foreground. To the right are the Staten Island ferry sheds at South Ferry. Sweeping up from the waterfront are the apparently stepped commercial buildings forming the business and financial zone of the City. The three outstanding structures are on Wall Street and are the Bank of Manhattan, the City Bank-Farmers Trust, and the 60 Wall Tower. At the left and right margins respectively are the Whitehall and American Sugar Refining Buildings. Thru the center is Broadway, in line with the Singer Building. About 1938 Frank, photo
