Manhattan: East River Drive - Gracie Square

East River Drive, at Gracie Square (East 84th Street) showing constructional details depicted by a series of oils by Mrs. John Markell. These were on display at the Municipal Reference Library from April 15th to the 30th of 1940. Titles of same are: Powder monkey, Dynamiting and drilling in the rock, and The blast. These titles are self-explanatory and indicate the preparatory work necessitated.
