Manhattan: East River Drive - Gracie Square

East River Drive, at Gracie Square (East 84th Street) showing constructional details depicted by a series of oils by Mrs. John Markell. These were on display at the Municipal Reference Library from April 15th to the 30th of 1940. Titles of same are: Concrete mixture on East River Drive, Concrete mixer in snowstorm, The bosses and "Elephant Tusk." All four of this series are in an upstream direction and show the Triboro and the Hellgate Bridges in their backgrounds. The light house appearing on the right is at the northern extremity of Welfare Island.
