Manhattan: Madison Avenue - 43rd Street (East)

Madison Avenue, west side, between 43rd and 44th Streets. The headquarters of Pease & Elliman at 340 Madison Avenue will be demolished in 1926 and replaced by the National American Building, about the same height. The picture also shows detail of old St. Bartholomew's Church (1876), which will be taken down in 1919 to make room for Canadian Pacific Building. No. 338 on the left will be demolished at the same time. 1918. Gift of E.M. Jenks.
