Manhattan: 42nd Street - Madison Avenue

East 42nd Street, north side, east from Madison Avenue, showing the Church of the Holy Trinity and the (1st) Grand Central Depot. The church, erected in 1873, was founded in 1864 by the younger Stephen H. Tyng. It has sacrilegiously been referred to as "The Church of the Holy Oilcloth." The Grand Central Depot shown is the first to be erected on this site and stood from 1871 to 1900. About 1890 Gift of Ubrock Collection
