Manhattan: Park Avenue - 38th Street

67 Park Avenue at N.E. corner of 38th Street, a new apartment house nearing completion on the site of the old Charles D. Barney residence. Notice the center parks on the old railroad tunnel and the roofed over stairway for passengers of the Madison Avenue street-car line, which will be discontinued in 1935. The center parks as shown here are probably little changed in appearance since the Civil War, but they are about to be remodelled. Early 1922. Gift of E. M. Jenks.
