Manhattan: Park Avenue - 38th Street

Park Avenue, west side, between 38th and 42nd Streets, showing in the background the tower of the Lefcourt Colonial building at Madison Avenue and 41st Street, and the Lincoln Building (60 East 42nd Street) still under construction. Of the buildings shown along the west side of the Avenue, the S.W. corner of 39th Street will be demolished in 1933. The Princeton Club on the N.W. corner will stand, but the other three houses in the block, to the S.W. corner of 40th Street, will be demolished in 1931 and replaced by a white two-story structure built for stores. The Hotel Belmont, which is far younger than the Murray Hill Hotel, will also be demolished in 1931 at an age of only twenty-five years. Ewing Galloway, Photographer. 1929.
