Manhattan: Broadway - Vesey Street

Broadway, at the N. W. corner of Vesey Street, showing the southerly half of the old Astor House demolished. A new 7-story Astor Building was erected here. The remaining half will subsequently be removed for the 44-storied Transportation Building. Beyond is the base of the Woolworth Building. On the right appears the old Post Office. This is at the apex of City Hall Park that is formed by the convergence of Park Row at Broadway. In 1939 this structure was removed and the park restored to its original form.
