Manhattan: Park Avenue - 36th Street

Park Avenue, north on east side from 36th to 39th Streets, seen from the N.W. corner of 35th Street in front of the Women's City Club. The 9-story apartment building on the S.W. corner of 37th Street, the site of the old Judge Russell mansion, was erected in 1923, the apartment house between 37th and 38th Streets about the same time; and the entire block from 38th to 39th Streets was rebuilt between 1921 and 1924, the N.W. corner of 38th Street being site of the Charles D. Barney residence. In the background, from left to right, are seen the top of the Chanin Building, the needle top of the Chrysler Building, and the colored tower of Town House apartments at 108 East 38th Street.
