Manhattan: 6th Avenue - Bedford Street to Downing Street.

(1) Sixth Ave., west side, north from Bedford (left) to Downing (right and across clearance) Streets as viewed from West Houston Street and showing a triangular block, bounded by these streets, under clearance. Across same appears structures on the north side of Downing Street. Downing Place, a concealed court formerly was located where the sign board stands and was opened to view by the construction of Sixth Ave. Extension. P. L. Sperr. December 11, 1937. (2) A view from in the clearance and in a southwestward direction showing the rear of buildings that face on Bedford Street; the 3-story rear structure being at the rear of No. 10. The south side of this building formed the southern boundary of the old Herring Farm (grounds would be on the right); the West Bayard Farm being opposite (left of same). P. L. Sperr.
