Manhattan: 31st Street (West) - 9th Avenue
West 31st Street (right), east from but not including Ninth Ave., showing in the foreground the yards of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the rear of the General Post Office. The latter faces on Eighth Ave., and extends north to West 33rd Street (left). On the opposite of Eighth Ave. is the Pennsylvania Railroad Station extending to Seventh Ave., and across it, the Equitable Life Assurance Society Building, on the east side of Seventh Ave., from West 31st to West 32nd Streets. On the left (West 33rd Street) appears the Collegiate Baptist Church and the Printing Crafts Building; the latter being on the west side of Eighth Ave. and extending from West 33rd to West 34th Streets. Shown under construction are the Nelson Tower, on the west side of Seventh Ave., between West 34th and West 35th Streets, and the 19-story building of R.H.
