Manhattan: 6th Avenue - 53rd Street (West)

Sixth Avenue, west side, south from W. 53rd Street, showing the locale partially freed of the obsolete "El" structure. Previously it turned westward on 53rd Street to join the 9th Avenue line at that Avenue. View 2 shows the street on its right. The third building site from the corner has already been cleared. Adjoining on the south are several tenements that are soon to come down. The latter will provide a site for a modern 6-story apartment house.
