321 East 34th Street (Harriet Hubbard Ayer Building), north side, between First and Second Avenues, showing a (general view northeastward) across the westerly half of St. Gabriel's Park and the Second Avenue "El," towards the midtown sector. At the latter point appears the prominent Chrysler and the News Buildings. Under construction in the mid-ground is the plaza approach to the Midtown-Queens Tunnel. The sole remaining building at this site is the St. Gabriel's branch of the New York Public Library. This is to be demolished early in 1940. October 13, 1939 Views 1, 2, 3 P. L. Sperr
