Manhattan: Park Avenue - 37th Street (East)

Park Avenue, west side, from E. 37th to 38th Streets, as viewed northwestward from the east side of this thoroughfare and showing in addition (left) the north side of 37th Street, west from Park to Madison Avenues. The New York Times of June 14, 1939, reports the sale for improvement of the corner property and the adjoining three structures on 37th Street. Comprising same are the Charles Coster house (50 Park Avenue), the former home of General Charles F. Roe of the N. Y. S. N. G. (No. 35 E. 37th Street), the Cortlandt Field Bishop home (No. 33 E.) and the Issac W. How home (No. 31 E.). The latter was sold by the estate of William M. Savin and No's 33 and 35 by Miss Sarah Ahern. At the extreme left of View 1 is the National Democratic Club, located at the N. E. corner of E. 37th Street and Madison Avenue. View No. 2 is westward on 37th Street while No. 3 is southwestward to include the Union League Club (1931) at the S. W. corner and opposite this new project.
