Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 23rd Street
Fifth Avenue (right) and Broadway (left) at 23rd Street, showing a triangular building site caused by the convergence of the first two thoroughfares upon which will soon rise the 21-story Fuller Building that is popularly known as the Flatiron Building because of its contour. Photographers vantage point is at 24th Street and he shows partially on the right the famous Fifth Ave. Hotel with its clock and lamps at the curbline. Construction work in the foreground may be the laying of car rails for the Broadway line which according to the New York Times of February 4, 1936 was built in 1885. About 1885-90. Brown Brothers.
