Manhattan: Park Avenue - 39th Street

(1) Park Avenue, east side, from 42nd to 39th Streets, showing the Pershing Square Viaduct and the Pershing Square Building, built about 1923 in the block from 42nd to 41st Streets where the Grand Union Hotel used to stand. In the right foreground, opposite this building, the Hotel Belmont (opened 1906) is in the final stages of demolition. 103 Park Avenue, on the S.E. corner of 41st Street, was built about 1900, and 101 Park Avenue, on the N.E. corner of 40th Street, in 1916.
