Manhattan: 42nd Street - Vanderbilt Avenue

East 42nd Street, at the N.E. corner of Vanderbilt Ave. Construction of the old Grand Central Terminal, rear view, Park Avenue (then Fourth Avenue), from 45th to 42nd Streets. This part of the building will be the great train shed covering the platforms. On the left, outside of the station on the east side, the old New York and Harlem Railroad tracks go down to Madison Square via the Park Avenue tunnel under Murray Hill. 1869. Ewing Galloway.
