Manhattan: 34th Street - 2nd Avenue

34th Street, west from and including Second Avenue. This shows the elevated structure running from Third Avenue to the East River. At the time this branch was built the law stated that all elevated branch that electricity was first used for experimentation, preparatory to electrifying all the lines. The structure is about to be torn down. The picture shows a fine view of the Empire State Building. June 25, 1931. International News.
