East River, skyline of Lower Manhattan, as viewed in a westerly direction from pier 11, off South Street, at the foot of Jones Lane. The skyscrapers as they appear from right to left are: the 60 Wall Tower, Bank of Manhattan, City Bank Farmers Trust and (left) the 6-story U.S. Assay Office Buildings, with its narrow funnel-like addition.
