1-13 Washington Square North, (right to left) north side, from University Place to Fifth Avenue as seen from the roof of 71 Washington Square South, across the Park, with the northeast corner of Fifth Avenue in the foreground and the midtown skyscrapers in the background. The Empire State Building (1930) rises behind 55 Fifth Avenue, to the center of the picture. To the right of same appears the Metropolitan tower (1907) and the New York Life Bldg.
