Manhattan: 6th Avenue - 48th Street (West)

1220 to 1236 Sixth Avenue, east side, north from W. 48th to 49th Streets, showing a row of structures, several slightly improved and the Center Theatre. The latter (No. 1236) is a part of Rockefeller City and is at the S.E. corner of 49th Street. This, a losing venture, may be demolished and an office structure erected instead. No. 2 shows the N.E. corner of 48th Street. The corner structure bears No's. 1220 Sixth Avenue and 71 W. 48th Street. Adjoining same are two 4 story former private dwellings whose members are 69 and 67. Overhead on the Avenue is the elevated line that shortly will be demolished in its entirety. June 20, 1938.
