Manhattan: Park Avenue - 38th Street

Park Avenue, east side, from 39th to 38th Streets, seen from the roof of 271 Madison Avenue, and showing the East River in the background. 77 Park Avenue, on the S.E. corner of 39th Street, was erected in 1924, and 67 Park Avenue, on the N.E. corner of 38th Street, was completed in 1922 on the site of the old Charles D. Barney residence. The building in the middle of the block was erected between these two in point of time. East of Park Avenue is shown the colored tower of Town House Apartments, 108 East 38th Street, erected in 1930. The single smoke-stack seen in the background is part of the New York Steam Corporation's plant on the east side of First Avenue between 35th and 36th Streets. P. L. Sperr, Photographer.
