Manhattan: 42nd Street (West) - 6th Avenue.
West 42nd Street, east from Sixth Ave., and showing prominently Bryant Park, which is on the south side of the afore mentioned street. The New York Public Library is at the eastern end of this park and it faces onto the west side of Fifth Ave., between 40th and 42nd Streets. Shown under construction is the skyscraper, No. 500 Fifth Ave., at the N.W. corner of 42nd Street. Adjoining same is the Salmon Tower, with the Morris Building (formerly Aeolian Hall) and Stern's Dept. Store westward. Across the Library Building is silhouetted the mid-town 42nd Street skyscraper district; with its Chrysler, Lincoln, Chanin, Lefcourt and Colonial and 10 East 40th Street Buildings.
