Stapleton, Staten Island: A general view southeastward across the town of Stapleton and the Upper New York Bay, as seen from Pearl Street on Grymes Hill. Shown in the foreground is the colonnaded 2nd District Magistrates and Municipal Court House, at 67-71 Targee Street; in the left center is the tall clock-tower building of the Rubsam and Horrmann Brewery on Canal Street; in the center background is the United States Marine Hospital, and directly across its right wing is the Wrigley chewing gum plant; slightly to the right, at the edge of the clearance, is the four-story Mariners' Family Asylum, 119 Tompkins Avenue; the wooded area lying beyond that is Rosebank.
