Manhattan: 4th Street (West) - 6th Avenue

(1) 146-148-150 West 4th Street, adjoining the clearing on the S.E. corner of Sixth Avenue. The little white house with the real estate office is an old frame structure. The shed to the right was put up after the east side of Sixth Avenue was cleared. March 11, 1932. P. L. Sperr. (2) The same, looking towards Sixth Avenue, and showing no part of 146 except the electric sign "Pepper Pot". Between 148 and 150 is the entrance to a one-story frame, originally a cow barn, behind 150 West 4th Street. In the 1920's this was occupied by "The Samovar" tea room; their sign over the entrance is still faintly legible. Since the time of the first view the premises have evidently been occupied by a Chinese Hand Laundry. May 24, 1933. P. L. Sperr.
