Manhattan: Houston Street (East) - Allen Street

(1) East Houston Street (where vehicles are seen) east from Allen Street, showing the clearance created between East Houston and East 1st Streets, by the demolition of tenements which faced on the north side of the former and the south side of the latter streets. Note construction going on for the Independent System Subway (Eighth Ave. subway).
