Manhattan: Madison Avenue - 24th Street (East)

This view shows the 20-story Madison Ave. Building (No. 21-25); the Farragut Building (No. 19); and the 15-story Pullman Building, at, adjoining and south of the S.E. corner of East 25th Street in the process of being dismantled internally. They will be completely razed in what is considered to be one of the largest demolition operations to be undertaken in years. It is being carried out by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., owners of the entire block of property, which includes the 16-story Metropolitan Life Annex Building, at the N.W. corner of East 24th Street (right). In a release issued by the Metropolitan, it states that no plans are being made for the immediate improvement of the land, but that it is being cleared for future use.
