Manhattan: 11th Avenue - 56th Street

Eleventh Ave. (right, foreground), east side, south from West 57th (left, foreground) to 56th Streets, showing the foundation of the New Sheffield Farms plant under construction. The New York Central Railroad tracks shown will be enclosed and two private sidings built for the sole service of this company. The buildings shown to the left and at the rear of this clearance will shortly be demolished and their sites added to permit this ultra modern milk plant to extend to its full length of 550 feet. The photographer is viewing in a southeastward direction to show silhouetted against the sky the 42nd Street and Times Square building outline.
