Manhattan: 11th Avenue - 56th Street (West)

Eleventh Avenue, north from W. 56th Street (from a point slightly to the southward of same). North of the first gas holder this thoroughfare becomes West End Avenue today (1938). The chimneys at the left are atop the power house of the I.R.T. Note the cobblestones, the street car tracks, the overhead telephone wires and the electric lamp. December 1905. Geo. L. Balgue
