Queens: 37th Avenue - Prince Street

37th Ave., at and adjoining the N.W. corner of Prince St. In the foreground is a view of the Reformed Church of Flushing. The congregation was organized in June 1842; the corner stone laid on August 16, 1843; and the edifice dedicated on September 10, 1844. The Rev. A. Gordon was its first pastor. The building was demolished in 1925. Note: this building was not designated as a church in the Realty Atlas of Queens for 1891. The cost of the edifice was twelve thousand dollars. It was enlarged in 1859. In 1925 a garage occupied the site of this church. A new structure was erected in 1892 at the corner of Amity and Bowne Sts. Views: 1-3 1922. Eugene L.
