Queens: Vernon Boulevard - Borden Avenue

Vernon Boulevard, north from Borden Avenue, across Jackson Avenue (B. Jarshom building). The construction work in the foreground is on the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, the entrance to which is directly under the street level. The vehicular viaduct leads from Brooklyn across Newtown Creek and the Pennsylvania Railroad yards. In the center background is St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, on 49th Avenue.
