Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 78th Street

Fifth Ave., at, adjoining and north of the N.E. corner of East 78th Street, showing prominently the James B. Duke (Doris Duke, 1936) home, that bears No. 1 East 78th Street. Adjacent to same is the 5-story Payne Whitney home, No. 972 Fifth Ave. On the extreme left is the Edith M. Feder (1936) home, No. 973. This latter is adjacent to the A. Van-Stuyvesant Jr. home (S.E. corner of 79th Street), which is not shown. [About 1910.] No construction not completed until 1911.
