Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 78th Street

Fifth Ave., east side, north from East 78th Street, showing prominently the James B. Duke (Doris Duke, 1936) house, No. 1 East 78th Street. Adjacent to same is the 5-story Payne Whitney home, No. 972 Fifth Ave. The two other structures occupying this front between 78th and 79th Streets are, No. 973 (Edith M. Feder, 1936) and No. 974 (A. Van Stuyvesant Jr., 1956); the latter being at the S.E. corner of 79th Street. June 1925.
