Manhattan: Irving Place - 17th Street (East)
49-47 Irving Place, (left) at and adjoining the S.W. corner of East 17th Street. The corner structure, No. 49, with its entrance on 17th Street, is supposed to have been the residence of Washington Irving and is popularly known as the Washington Irving House. Shown on the right and north of same is a 3-story building, No. 120 East 17th Street. July 1937. George D. Chinn.
