Manhattan: 2nd Ave. - 11th St.

Second Avenue, west side, from 11th to 14th Streets, inclusive, showing the old Rutherfurd house on the corner of 11th Street, now part of St. Mark's Hospital, and the Yiddish Art Theatre. Lewis M. Rutherfurd was noted as an astronomer, although he had begun as a lawyer (he was admitted to the bar in 1837). The mansard roof was added to the house since its occupation by the Rutherfurd family.
